The writing continues and the years are whipping by - for Maud, that is! Today I've gotten into 1906 and 1907. Yes, Maud has written Anne and history is about to be made. But first I've got a little of my own history that happened today, considerably minor as it is. So far I've either written a complete scene in a day, or two complete scenes, or part of a scene. Today, I got stuck writing Ewan's proposal (it's a quasi-duet with Ewan and Maud, but I need more information than I have in front of me at the moment), so I stopped and moved on to the next scene where Maud takes her manuscript out of the hat box and decides to try sending it to one more publisher. I hate to break up the set, as it were - although it's not like anyone's going to know!
That means, if all goes well, our Maud will find her Anne published on 31 August. Of course, as you know, that's a monumental moment and I'm a little jittery just thinking about it! I'm planning on working a song in there based on a tune Leo came up with last October. It's sort of been an unofficial Maud theme for us, and everyone he's played it so far has loved it. We're in slight disagreement over what it evokes - but isn't that how music is? I see it as more euphoric and triumphant, whereas he sees it as more bittersweet and says people have cried when they've heard it. I can see it that way, too, so the publication of Anne seems to me the best place to use this music. You'll see. I'm pretty sure I can make that work. It's just an awesome enough piece that I feel it has to be used for an important moment and not one of the more common ones!
Of course, stay tuned for more - right here on LMM-TV!
