Stratford, Prince Edward Island
It's done! It's DONE! It's
DONE! Oh - did I mention it was done?

I'm talking about the libretto, of course. I essentially finished it Saturday night and then Leo read through it and made a few suggestions, and the finished version of
this incarnation has just gone out to the dramaturges. And now we shall see!

It's a bit what I imagine sending a child out on his first day of kindergarten is like. Will the other kids like him? Will they tease him and beat up on him? Something like that. At any rate, it's a relief to finally have this version done - I'd essentially been on it for 4 weeks. I started it in Florida and continued in Toronto and finished it here. It almost feels weird not having it to do now!

Anyway, over the weekend we went up to Silver Bush at Park Corner - for those that don't know, it was the home of Maud's cousins, and she used to hang out there with them. She immortalized it in her books
Pat of Silver Bush and Mistress Pat. So, we decided we needed to film it for our screen, and George Campbell - a descendant of the original Campbells! - kindly gave us permission to do it. It actually ended up being a very gray day and the trees are more bare than we envisioned, but we might end up using the shot because of where those books come in in our story. Below are a couple of interesting shots of that process.

20 June 2008 is seven months from tomorrow. Can we do it?

It was an easy shot - just point and shoot. But it was cold!

An interesting perspective of Silver Bush.
